The limit of the trade is worth stating as plainly as the list above. This company works on cooking equipment inside a kitchen. It does not service home heating or air conditioning: no furnaces, no heat pumps, no air handlers, no thermostats, and no house duct systems, cleaned or installed. The one duct we do open is the run from a cooking hood to its roof or wall termination, because extraction is part of how a cooktop behaves — that is kitchen ventilation, not climate control. Refrigeration and dishwashers belong to other marques and are somebody else's call as well.

Equipment still inside the manufacturer's warranty should go through the manufacturer's own network; we handle everything outside it.

North-east Florida records roughly 68 thunderstorm days a year, and the county has sat through multi-day outages after Matthew in 2016, Irma in 2017 and Helene in 2024. A modern cooking suite is mostly electronics: a control board, a relay board, a spark module, an induction inverter. Those are what a surge reaches first, and they are the most expensive components in the appliance.

Surge damage is frequently partial rather than total. A board that survives an event looking normal has lost margin, and it fails properly weeks later on an ordinary evening with no storm in sight — which is why the owner rarely connects the two. An appliance that changed behaviour on the afternoon of a storm and never quite recovered is a fault to measure, not a glitch to wait out.

We check the supply before we suspect the board: both legs of a 240-volt feed, the breaker itself, the connections behind the appliance, then thermal cutouts, then the control. A board is the last thing on that list because it is the most expensive and the least often the actual cause.
